Digitization of International Trade Documents: Reflections and Challenges

Global Share was invited to participate in the recent Global Grain event South America, held in Sao Paulo between the 11th and 12th of September, 2019.

Alejandro Pernías, current CEO of the company, made a presentation on digitization, allowing all participants to examine the considerations and challenges on digitization of International Trade Documents.

During this journey, Alejandro highlighted the importance of standardization, processes improvements, collaboration and technology. In this regard, he introduced edoxOnline, the web based platform for International Trade documents, as an interconnected net of solutions being adopted by the major Trading Companies and services providers around the world.

He also emphasized “with kudos” the IPPC´s hard work through the steering group (ESG) to make ePhyto a successful reality to exchange electronic Phytosanitary Certificates through the enrolled countries with National System (via The Hub system), and also allowing all other developing countries without a National System to participate through the generic ePhyto National system (Gens).

Last but not least congratulations to the Global Share team on the recent announcement of the International Group of P&I Clubs approving the Electronic Bill of Lading module underpinned by Blockchain technology (https://www.igpandi.org/article/international-group-circular-bills-lading-and-blockchain-based-system).
