As of July 15, 2019, all of those countries not having their own ePhyto national system are able to use the Generic ePhyto National (web-based) System to electronically produce, send and receive ePhytos through the HUB (central server), thereby facilitating the transfer and exchange of ePhytos between NPPOs all over the world. In this regard, it is worth to emphasize that the GeNS is mainly intended to help developing countries which are not capable of implementing their own national systems.

The IPPC ePhyto solution is a step forward towards the digitization of trading documentation and the move to paperless trade for the agricultural industry.
